PWRC CONTINUES THE CLUB’S COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES --
DONATES OVER $2K TO THE FISHER HOUSE FOUNDATION
Continuing their long established commitment to community projects, PWRC recently donated over $2K to The Fisher House Foundation, Inc. where such funds help meet long term support needs of seriously injured veterans and their families. Sums collected were from a few donations as well as the Club’s Bake Sale and White Elephant Sale and a children’s lemonade and cookie stand. PWRC members presented the check to Mary Considine, Director of Admissions for the Foundation.
At the invitation of The Fisher House Foundation, PWRC members participated in the Foundation’s Open House and Tour of new homes at the National Naval Medical Center where families of wounded warriors personally thanked the club members for their efforts and concern. These families also expressed their heartfelt appreciation to Fisher House whose very existence, they said, continues to make a huge difference in their lives.
