Upper Montgomery Republican Women’s Club

“One woman alone has limited power, but a group of dedicated women can make a difference! Knowledge is power, and the more we educate ourselves and our community, the stronger the Republican Party will be.” -Patti Witham

The members of the Upper Montgomery Republican Women’s Club promote the principles of the Republican Party through participation and education. We are loyal to the Republican Party and support Republican candidates in all elections.

Upper Montgomery RWC is a new Club recently formed in the northern part of the county. We received our charter November, 2006, at the Maryland Federation of Republican Women State Convention. Business and education meetings are held the third Saturday or Monday of each month, except for the months of June, July, August and December.

The benefits of the Club are many

  • Educating members on the candidates and issues in current elections
  • Getting to know those involved in the political process
  • Being aware of specific needs and opportunities to promote better government at all levels
  • Promoting Party ideals in more confident ways
  • Taking an active role in spreading the knowledge gained from the Club

UMWRC AND OTHER MCFRW CLUBS CELEBRATE ARMED FORCES DAY

In celebration of our brave and dedicated military, on May 21, 2011, Armed Forces Day, The Upper Montgomery Republican Women's Club planned a trip to Mount Vernon the beautiful historic home of our first President and courageous General of the Revolutionary War, George Washington.

We had a Beautiful Day which started with a marvelous luncheon at The Mount Vernon Inn overlooking the landscape, and an afternoon spent touring the Mansion, Gardens and New Museum.

The Rockville Club decided to join us instead of their regular May meeting and ladies joined us from three other clubs as well – Chevy Chase, Olney and Potomac.

We could not have planned a better day, everyone had a great experience and this outing was such a great success we can’t wait to plan something special like it for next year.

Many thanks to Carola Lewis, our Vice President for her work in setting this trip up.
